This is a question we get asked a lot: How will I know when it’s time to replace my roof?
Well, to put it frankly, that’s a loaded question. There are a LOT of variables that go into the answer, but as always we strive to tell you the truth and work with transparency and integrity. So let’s get down to brass tacks.
Variables to consider
You might have learned in our last article that there are a lot of variables that affect the life of your shingles: wind, hail, heat, ventilation in the roof, proper installation, manufacturer defects, just to name a few! (See? We weren’t kidding.)
Having a relationship with a credible roofing company who is willing to–on their own dime–inspect your roofing system at least once a year will ensure you are aware of any damage or breakdown present while keeping YOU safely on the ground. (Wives, how many times have you stepped outside to see your husband on your steep roof and lost your mind? Hello!) DT Roofing does not recommend a home or business owner EVER get on their roof. Leave that to us.
So in other words, the best way to know when it’s time to replace your roof is by asking a professional. It’s not simply a matter of looking at it from the ground.
The bottom line
If you’ve had your roof for more than seven years, or if you’ve recently experienced a storm (hail or wind), it’s probably time to give DT Roofing a call. We’ll give you an honest, fair, and straightforward assessment. Many times, you don’t actually need a new roof (no, seriously). Maybe some maintenance or maybe nothing at all! We’ll tell you that, too.
